Getaway

Neal was in Ft Lauderdale for a conference and I flew out for the weekend for a little getaway.  The weekend turned out perfect.  I missed Audrey and thought about her all the time but I knew she was in good hands with her Nana.  I didn't worry about her once.

The nice thing about Nana's is that she has pretty much everything at her house and there's no need to pack a U-haul with all things baby.

On the plane and ready to go!

The view from our balcony.

Mommy juice.

A rainbow over the Atlantic.

I love the beach and I love the ocean.   I hope there's clean sand and clear water in heaven.

We had a wonderful trip and got back just in time to celebrate Father's Day with this girl.

Beach Baby

We kicked off the summer with a trip to Corpus.  Mack stayed at Camp Nana while we were gone.  Thursday evening we drove to Beaumont to drop him off.

We had a burger with Nana before we left.  Audrey enjoyed her first grilled cheese sandwich.

Before we left on Friday, we went to Baby Boot Camp.  I think it's just cruel that we worked out for an hour in front of the cookie place!

We went to the beach on Saturday.  Our little bathing beauty wasn't too sure of the beach.

Ok, this isn't too bad.

She was really interested in eating the sand.

We met Neal's cousin and a little place on the water for "afternoon tea". The Dreamsicle was delicious and tasted like summer.

Baby was pooped from her jammed packed Saturday.

Baby Jail

I am that mother. I thought Audrey was napping on our bed so I was going about my business in the living room. Then I heard it. THUMP! Yes, I let my baby roll off our bed. It's a good 3 foot drop. She's fine but I learned my lesson. Hence, the baby jail.

Guess its time to baby proof. We've been putting it off but it's time. She's crawling and pulling up on anything that will stand still. It is fun to see her cruise along the window sill and the furniture.

Summer is Here!

It's officially summer in the Ferguson house!

We sure are going to miss our friends from Bear Boulevard.

A page from Audrey's portfolio. There's the famous WTF face. Her teachers gave us a binder full of her "work." Lots of hand and feet paintings.

Today I walked out of the room I've called home for the past few years for the last time. On to bigger and better things next year!

Bring on the summer! We're not ones to sit around and do nothing : Corpus, music class, swim lessons, library story time, Good Morning America, baby boot camp, San Antonio, Ft Lauderdale, Grand Cayman ......

Tejas Triathalon

Neal raced in a sprint triathalon last weekend.  We packed up the family and left before the sun came up. Daddy set up his bike and took the obligatary picture (one of the few with the "good" camera) with Audrey and her "WTF" face.

This was right  before the bottom fell out of the sky and the first of many summer storms blew through.  Neal was out on his bike when the weather took a turn for the worse.  There are few other times when I have been as worried.  Audrey and I staked out a place under a gazebo in "baby row."  There were 3 of us with babies huddled together trying to escape the sideways blowing rain. Luckily, the storm passed quickly and all the atheletes were safe.

It's tough being a triathalon baby but somebody's gotta do it!

Ear Infection=No Bueno

Boo to ear infections.  Audrey wasn't her usual bubbly self over the Memorial Day weekend.  Sure enough, the school called me Tuesday afternoon because she had a fever. When we took her in to the doctor, her left ear was red.  I was just thinking that we had almost made it the whole school year being in daycare without any sicknesses. Nana came to the rescue since Mama is super busy finishing up this school year and Daddy needed to work too.   Here's hoping for no more ear infections!

This is the picture I got around lunchtime on the 2nd day of her staying home from school.  Nana, Daddy, and Audrey were cruising around and even went out to lunch while Mama was stuck at school.

Lovie's new favorite thing to do is to pull herself up on everything.  She's even been a brave a few times and let go while she is standing.  She thinks she is so big!

Sad to see Nana go home.  Maybe if I get on her suitcase, she won't leave.

Sweet baby feet. Now that Audrey is moving around more and is getting taller, she's losing a lot of her baby fat.  I'm not ready for that.   I want the little "Michelen man" baby legs for a little while longer.

Even with the little ear infection, Audrey's language is continuing to develop.  She can say Mama, Dada, BaBa (bottle), and Bye-bye.  So fun!  Can't wait to spend the summer with my girl!
