Christmas Happenings

Our annual trip to Zoo Lights.  She talked about this for days.  "I like zoo lights. Zoo lights pretty."

Our church did a children's event with a Superhero theme.
Music and dancing were right up her alley.

They had the cutest photo booth complete with snow.
Several nights after dinner, we walked down to one of the cul-de-sacs to see our buddy Frosty.

Tis the Season

We started the Christmas season with decorating.  We went to Lowe's Thanksgiving weekend to get our very real tree and left with this sad little Black Friday special.  I'm still not exactly sure how Neal talked me in to it.  It served it's purpose but I surely had "real tree withdrawals" the whole month.  Audrey did enjoy the lights going back and forth from colored to clear.
We decorated her little kitchen in her room.  She loved having the lights in her room and there's something special about falling asleep looking at Christmas lights.
I've saved photo Christmas cards for the past 4 years and it was fun to go back and look at the pictures of our favorite families.
Neal was a sport and hung each light on the house, perfectly spaced.  Every year, I try to talk him into doing the windows for a gingerbread house look, but I haven't won that one yet.
We also had a little elf who helped us this year.  She was really good and putting each of these bulbs on the lights.
We had a little fun with our Elf on the Shelf.  The beauty of a 2 year old is that the elf only moved about 3 times the whole month.
And a few bonus pictures just because she's cute.

Halloween~Better Late than Never

Thanksgiving in Corpus

Head Lice

I was fixing Audrey's hair for school the Tuesday before Thanksgiving when i noticed bugs crawling in her hair.  I really couldn't believe it but there was no doubt that we had our first case of head lice.  I knew it was inevitable that she would get it at some point, especially being a girl with long hair.  Just didn't expect her to get it as a two year old.

Unfortunately, I've had several friends who have gotten lice from their students and knew about The Lice Place.  Whoever invented this is a genius (and probably a millionaire since it's $99/hour for treatment!)

She looks really unhappy in this picture but she was actually mesmorized by the movie that was playing.  She chatted with the technician during the treatment.  These ladies were amazing and I'm pretty sure I would not have been able to get her to sit still for 45 minutes at home.
The special comb wasn't picking up all the nits so the lady had to use tweezers to get all of them.  I learned more about head lice than I ever cared to.

On a semi related note, Audrey has been having allergic reactions and breaking out in hives lately.  One trip to the doctor and one to urgent care.  As the lady was picking out the bugs, she mentioned that sometimes lice saliva can get into the bloodstream and cause reactions.  If that doesn't make you want to barf, I don't know what will!

Happy Birthday Stella!

I never really thought a 2 year old could make real friends but she loves her Tiger Trail friends.  We went to a birthday party for Stella.  She said "Happy Birthday Stella" on repeat for the days leading up to the party.

Guess what? Another Frozen party!  She was so happy to see Anna and Elsa.  It was so cute for her to get excited to see her friends.  Hi Stella!  Hi Mia!  Hi Kelsey!   Her mind was also blown when her teacher Ms. Jasmine showed up.

We took a tour of the butterfly rainforest exhibit and she followed right along with the big kids.  She was in to it and a great listener for a 2 year old!

The best picture I could get in the buttefly room.  She was constantly in motion chasing the butterfliess.  All was fine until one landed on her and she started saying "yuck yuck yuck!"

Tiger Trail

Well I came to write a current post and found this one still in my draft folder.   School pictures from the beginning of school.  Who cares if it is now Thanksgiving.  Tiger Trail is a big thing that we're thankful for!

Meet the teachers.

Ready for the first day of school.

I untentionally trained her to stand by the tree each morning before going to school to take a picture.

Firefighter Audrey.

First days of school brought a stomach bug and pink eye.

First pony tail.

Ms. Gabby is a much better hairdresser than Mommy.

Runs to the door each morning.  "Let's go!"

All about me project.
