IronMan Texas

Neal completed his second Ironman triathalon in May.  He worked his tail off training and shaved about an hour off of his time from the last time he did it. These things are hard on our family but seeing the sense of accomplishment when he (and so many others) cross the finish line brings me to tears.

We got to the hotel and this gal wanted to know "where's the beach?"
Neal went to bed early the night before the race so we went out to explore a little.

A long day of cheering.

Mother's Day

I had the perfect, low key Mother's Day this year.  Hearing Audrey tell me "Happy Mudders Day" was all I really needed but I do love the painting of Audrey and Mack that our friend did for us.

Dance Recital!

Audrey took a ballet class this spring on Saturdays.  It gave us something to do while Daddy was training for Ironman.  I can't think of much else cuter than 2 year old prancing around in tutus!

Tiger Trail Spring Show

On May 1st, Tiger Trail had their annual Spring Show.  I love that they put in the time and effort to do this for us.  It was certainly one of the cutest things I have ever seen!
Thank you Ashley, Gabby, and Jasmine!

Zoobilee

Once a year the zoo has a "members only" evening party called Zoobilee.  It's not really all that exclusive since everyone and their brother has a zoo membership.  We chose to be rebels and go on the less crowded Thursday night.  It was a great time!

70.3

Neal's half-Ironman race was in Galveston this weekend at Moody Gardens.

We had some time to kill so I thought she'd enjoy Rio in the 4D theater.  It was all fun and games until the special effects started.  3D birds flying everywhere, the seats were shaking, and loud noise.  She started screaming "I don't like those birds!  Those birds scare me!"  We left and I hope she isn't going to be traumatized forever.
Our hotel was on the seawall so we got a little beach action after dinner.  She hated the beach as a baby but thought it was the coolest thing ever this time.  "I see the waves. They coming."
Our IronGirl woke up not feeling well on Sunday morning.  It's always a dead giveaway that she doesn't feel good when she falls asleep in the stroller.
Mom took her back to Houston so she could rest.
Oh yea, the reason we were in Galveston.  Here is Neal coming around the last loop heading towards the finish line.  Good job on the PR!
