My baby is turning into a big girl right before my eyes. We're starting to put lots of her "baby" things away.  The swing, bouncer, baby tub will all be waiting for Audrey's little brother or sister!  One day.

7 Months

Wow, we have a 7 month old.  I felt like I was pregnant f-o-r-e-v-e-r but these 7 months have flown by.  Our little cupcake has all kinds of new tricks.  She finally mastered rolling from her back to her tummy.  This is usally how I find her in the mornings when I go to get her up.  Flipped over and looking around.

Such a ham.

Yes, she's started to pull herself up on things.  Nothing cuter than chunky baby legs.

Weekend Fun

I tried to come up with a cute title for this post but came up with nada.  It's now Wednesday and I'm still tired from last weekend. It was bluebonnet and 70.3 (half Ironman) weekend. Friday we went to eat at Lupe Tortilla.  I'm back on the weight loss wagon and actually ate there within my target calories.  I even had my huge, flour tortilla and ate it too!  I don't care what anyone says, but one of the best things about being a mom is random strangers telling you how cute your kid is. There I said it!  I LOVE it when people oogle over her.  My friend said it best in a text this week: "Isn't it grand to look at your own baby and think Damn I make cute kids!"  I couldn't have said it better myself.

On Saturday, Neal needed to check in and drop off his bike at Moody Gardens for his triathalon on Sunday.  We took 2 cars since the babe and I needed to take bluebonnet pictures on Sunday morning.  Neal was staying at Justin and Kate's (minus Justin) so we made a pit stop there and visited with Kate.  We drove to Galveston, hung out at the expo, checked Neal in, enjoyed the weather and then Audrey & I headed home.

Sunday was b-u-s-y!  We left our house at 7:00 to go to Chapell Hill to take bluebonnet pictues. Even Mack got to go and be in a few pictures.  I think I've become obsessed with having pictures made.  The girl is 6 months old and has had 5 professional photo shoots, 6 if you count my maternity shots.  The bluebonnet field was amazing.  I really hope there are bluebonnets in heaven!

Then we went back home and got ready to go cheer Daddy in his triathalon. Back to Galveston we went!

She usually sits up in her stroller, but I was trying to coax her to take a nap.  It cracks me up when she rides with her feet up like that.

We were able to see Neal a few times on the course.  He finished under his goal time.  There's nothing like being at the finish line of a big event like this.  It brings tears to my eyes to see people accomplish something like this.  I had a minor mommy fail.  We can check "baby's first sunburn" off the list.  Her little cheeks got a little rosy, but luckily her arms and her semi-bald head were spared.  Guess it's time to invest in a sun hat.

Hello Corpus

Audrey made her first trip to Corpus this past weekend.  She's such a great little traveler.  We also had the treat of staying in a hotel during our stay.  Luckily, a 6 month old is easily entertained and stays where you put her.  This might be a bit more challenging when she becomes mobile.

We were all able to go for a walk on the sea wall the first morning we were there.  The second morning, Daddy had to go run by himself since the wind was blowing so hard.

Baby Blues

Both the little girl and the big boy decided to take a nap at the same time.  I took this chance to read on my Kindle.  Such a glorious 30 minutes!

Hanging out with Grandma and Ite.  We took Grandma out to dinner to celebrate her 85th birthday.  We ate dinner at 5, went back to their house to watch Bonanza, and were back to the hotel by 7:30.  Is that what we have to look forward to when we're 85?

Spring Break Recap

Dear Spring Break,
I'm sorry you're not getting the attention you deserve.  Despite a few sucky parts, you really were pretty spectuacular.  Here we are a week or two later and still nothing.  Here's my feeble attempt at remembering you.

School gets out.  Principal lets us leave early.  Neal leaves for Europe.  Nana arrives.  Attend a Sip N See for new Baby Sophia.  Attend a 5 year old's skating party.  Grandpa comes for a day.  Go to church.  Take 6 month pictures with Pink & Purple.  Have a Chick-fil-A lunch date with the Sultenfuss boys.  Take Audrey to doctor.  Find out she just has a cold. Pack the car and drive to see Aunt Karen.  Stop in College Station to eat lunch with Bryan and Stephanie.  Spend a few days relaxing in the country.  Return to Houston.  Take Audrey to her 6 month check up.  Hang out with the San Antonio Fergusons.  Neal gets home.  Eat mediocre Italian food.  Mommy gets a 24 hour stomach bug.  Saturday night date night at HEB.  Go to church.  Costco trip.  George Strait concert.

Thanks for the memories!

6 Months

Better late than never with this 6 month post.  I consider it a success if the 6 month post is posted before the 7th month post.  She. Is. So. Much.Fun.  She's got quite a little inventory of vocalizations: babbles, squeals, raspberries.  Sweetest sounds in the world.  Audrey is also officially an "eater."  Her menu includes avocado, sweet potato, squash, green beans, apples, pears, peaches, bananas, carrots and we add a new one every week.

Audrey also had her 6 month check up recently.  With that came another round of shots.  She squealed like a pig when the nurse gave her the shots.  I giggled because it was the funniest/saddest sound.  I'm pretty sure that wasn't the appropriate response from me but better than me bawling my eyes out.
