I tried to come up with a cute title for this post but came up with nada. It's now Wednesday and I'm still tired from last weekend. It was bluebonnet and 70.3 (half Ironman) weekend. Friday we went to eat at Lupe Tortilla. I'm back on the weight loss wagon and actually ate there within my target calories. I even had my huge, flour tortilla and ate it too! I don't care what anyone says, but one of the best things about being a mom is random strangers telling you how cute your kid is. There I said it! I LOVE it when people oogle over her. My friend said it best in a text this week: "Isn't it grand to look at your own baby and think Damn I make cute kids!" I couldn't have said it better myself.
On Saturday, Neal needed to check in and drop off his bike at Moody Gardens for his triathalon on Sunday. We took 2 cars since the babe and I needed to take bluebonnet pictures on Sunday morning. Neal was staying at Justin and Kate's (minus Justin) so we made a pit stop there and visited with Kate. We drove to Galveston, hung out at the expo, checked Neal in, enjoyed the weather and then Audrey & I headed home.
Sunday was b-u-s-y! We left our house at 7:00 to go to Chapell Hill to take bluebonnet pictues. Even Mack got to go and be in a few pictures. I think I've become obsessed with having pictures made. The girl is 6 months old and has had 5 professional photo shoots, 6 if you count my maternity shots. The bluebonnet field was amazing. I really hope there are bluebonnets in heaven!
Then we went back home and got ready to go cheer Daddy in his triathalon. Back to Galveston we went!
She usually sits up in her stroller, but I was trying to coax her to take a nap. It cracks me up when she rides with her feet up like that.
We were able to see Neal a few times on the course. He finished under his goal time. There's nothing like being at the finish line of a big event like this. It brings tears to my eyes to see people accomplish something like this. I had a minor mommy fail. We can check "baby's first sunburn" off the list. Her little cheeks got a little rosy, but luckily her arms and her semi-bald head were spared. Guess it's time to invest in a sun hat.
